Daily-ish Blog #15 - Comparison

"Don't compare your chapter 2 to someone else's chapter 16."

I'm not so sure that that's how the quote goes, and I'm too lazy to look up what it actually is, but you get what it means.

I'd actually change this quote up a bit. The real quote should be "don't compare any chapter of yours to any chapter of someone else."

Let me be loud and clear - there's no value in comparison. Engaging in comparing thoughts are not self serving. There's not two people in the world who have the same life, given the same opportunities and the same obstacles.

What's self serving here (at least for me) is actively seeing your good. When was the last time you did a practice in which you recognized yourself? One of my favorite practices is writing down things that I've done well for myself when it's tougher to see the good. Even putting myself in the perspective of someone else if I have to.

At the end of the day, ALWAYS know that you are too special to compare yourself to someone else and if you need help seeing this, I'm always here.

Thanks for reading,
